Support your cell production for a healthy immune system

A healthy immune system is no coincidence. Daily eating habits and general lifestyle have a direct impact on our body. They help our body to protect us from infections and toxins.

In order for our immune system to do its job properly, it needs to be constantly supplied with vitamins, minerals and trace elements.

And yet it is still inevitable that every now and then a virus or bacteria will invade our body. If an intruder has managed to get into our body, immune cells (kind of blood cells) come into action to fight it. Blood cells are a very important part of our immune system and should therefore be well supported.

But how can we support the production of blood cells? We found out for you & are going to tell you now!

1. What are immune cells?

Immune cells are a large variety of blood cells - including white blood cells. These are formed in the bone marrow and circulate in the blood vessels and lymph channels.

Our bodies never fail to fascinate! So, too, when you look at the strategies these blood cells drive to protect us from germs.

1) Some of the immune cells (phagocytes) simply eat up the pathogens. But what happens when there are too many bacteria? Then the phagocytes can no longer do it on their own and have to switch to strategy 2.

2) If the phagocytes cannot do it on their own, they call for help from the T-helper cells. The T-helper cells pass on precise information to the plasma cell, which then develops suitable antibodies.

If the exact virus enters the body again and so that the immune system can then react more quickly, the memory cell remembers the exact information about the virus.

As you can see, immune cells do a fantastic job so that you don't get sick.

2. Where are blood cells formed?

Blood cells are formed in the bone marrow. Red and white blood cells develop there from common precursor cells called stem cells. The different blood cells mature in the bone marrow and are released into the bloodstream as soon as they are functional.

The mature blood cells have a relatively short life span. It ranges from a few days to several months. Every second, more than two million blood cells perish. The bone marrow must therefore constantly produce new blood cells so that the blood can fulfil its vital functions.

3. What happens if you don't have enough immune cells?

If the body doesn't produce enough immune cells or they no longer function properly, it can have serious consequences. Should the immune cells no longer attack invaders and make them harmless, the immune system is not able to prevent an outbreak of disease.

If the immune cells cannot distinguish between the body's own cells and foreign substances such as viruses or bacteria, the defense cells overreact and attack the skin, bones, organs or nerve cells. This can be the beginning of a severe chronic disease.

 4. How can we support our immune cell formation?

There are various ways to support the formation of your blood cells and thus also your immune system.

In general, of course, a healthy lifestyle is important. Make sure you eat a balanced diet, drink enough water daily, control your stress levels and get enough sleep. We also recommend that you pay special attention to the following vitamins and minerals:

Vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid

Vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid are responsible for the production of immune cells in the body. If the body lacks immune cells or white blood cells, there is usually a vitamin B deficiency. To support the production of white blood cells in a natural way, you should therefore make sure you take enough vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid. Our  Vitamin B Complex contains the following B vitamins: B3, B5, B1, B6, B2, B12, B9 and B7 (biotin). In the product description you will find more information about the numerous effects of the B vitamins.

Copper and iron

Copper facilitates the absorption of iron through food. Therefore, the consequence of a copper deficiency is often also an iron deficiency. The two trace elements are needed for the production of blood cells. A copper deficiency reduces the number of blood cells, which weakens the immune system. The two superfoods spirulina & chlorella contain a healthy amount of iron and copper, along with many other minerals. If you want to learn more about the nutrients, vitamins and minerals in spirulina & chlorella, check out our  Spirulina & Chlorella Complex.

Omega 3 fatty acids

Omega 3 fatty acids can increase the body's production of phagocytes. Remember? Phagocytes are the type of white blood cell that eliminate bacteria and harmful invaders. They are therefore really important when it comes to fighting off disease. You can find Omega-3 capsules in our shop with  fish oil or as a  vegan version with algae-based.

Support your immune system naturally

No matter what time of year we are in, we don't want to let any illnesses stop us from our everyday adventures. Our health and wellbeing should always be our number one priority. Unfortunately, along with our jobs and other commitments, we often forget to take all the vitamins and minerals we need. Be mindful of what you eat and support your body to function perfectly!
